Make no mistake, a pool takes work and money, so does a nice house, a car, a boat or any such object. And if we do not educate ourselves, there are people who will take advantage of us and take our money, but once educated we can save a lot of money. But here is another story, Sunday was real hot again here, I had a bunch of little projects I planned on doing. About noon time I looked out the window, kids in pool with a few friends, and relatives, the pool was sparkling and they were having a great time! My first instinct was here I am sweating my butt off working on this dumb house and they are all out there having fun. But then isn't that what I was doing all this work for? Bagged the projects for the day, went out and joined them. Through the rest of day must have had 25 different people stop by and swim, had a barbecue and a great time. Biggest expense was need to go stock up on food again. People stayed til about 10:00 pm. Then we cleaned up, boy was I tired. Wife and I sitting on deck exhausted and talking. The day was priceless, kids will remember these days, A lot of work yes, a lot of fun even greater. I am lucky my wife wants the pool as much as I do, still days we would like to bulldoze it in, same with house. But Sunday was one of those days that made it all worth while. And not even planned. May be in the end you decide you do not want a pool, it is an individual decision, makes it worse if wife doesn't want it and that may be a deal breaker for me. But anything worthwhile takes work.
