Jandy valves wires cut?

Hi everyone, I'm not sure for what reason somebody cut the lines that run from the Jandy valves to the controller in my new home's pool. A couple of questions, can they be easily replaced/fixed? And 2, why would someone do that other than just being nasty? They weren't chewed by rats or anything, they're clean, diagonal cuts hidden along the lines, probably done before I even got the house...

Should be easy to splice back together. Just make sure that the splices are water tight. Do you have a picture of the wires?
Maybe a weedeater cut the wires?

Ohhhh it makes a whole lot of sense, because where they are there are a lot of weeds. Let me get a picture and I'll share later, thanks a lot for the response @JamesW
