Hello everyone,

After 21 years of mostly manual everything, I've decided to upgrade my inground pool with an automation panel. I made the mistake of listening to my pool contractor and got stuck on a Hayward PL-PS-4. Unfortunately, my pump is a Jandy and I'm trying to find anything that would help me to connect my Jandy Pro Series VS PlusHP pump to the PL-PS-4. Unfortunately, the manuals from Hayward have got to be the worst I've ever seen and though the Jandy manual is better, it really doesn't tell me what the terminals are for the RS-485 connection - all they have are colour coded connections.

Does anyone have any in depth knowledge of these 2 components and if and how they can be connected together? Thanks!

Mike,

Welcome to TFP... a great place to find the answers to all of your "Did my pool builder just screw me?" questions... :shark:

I agree with JamesW, but to be sure you might want to talk with Hayward directly...

You would think that anything with an RS-485 com port should be able to talk together.. But it is like calling someone on the phone that speaks another language.. You might get a connection but it will be almost impossible to have communications... For the most part, each manufacturer has their own language...

Thanks,

Jim R.
