Jandy Pro XI heater. Does anyone have the versaflo bypass?

Our new pool has a Jandy xi heater and I was just reading I can add an automatic bypass to it so the water doesn't cycle through the heater. Does anyone have any experience with this. I've found it online for $165.

Is it worth it? The literature says an increase of flow and an energy savings of upto 20%

I don't even have a heater and I like it. It looks like a great idea to me..

Does anyone have a VersaFlo? This is something I am considering and wonder if it is worth the extra $$$ in savings and longevity.

I haven't heard of many issues with the bypass itself but there are much better and less problematic heaters out there (Raypak).

Building your own bypass with an actuator is easy and probably more efficient than the Jandy unit.

I install them on all of my new builds we did about 60 of them this year here locally in Sacramento, CA we love them better water efficiency and if you get the one with the built in bypass you also get a longer life out of the heater since when its not in use you are not doing needless wear and tear and it is also a lot more compact and light weight easy for one guy to install by him self.
