This post will be super similar to the one by @b2cperson here: Jandy JXi 400N Not Igniting - Help
I have almost the exact same issue, except I DO have gas flowing from the valve into the blower. It sounds like @Jrock817 had a similar issue. I'm hoping someone like @JamesW, @setsailsoon , or @swamprat69 can help.
To recap:
I opened my pool about two weeks ago. At the time, I was able to fire up the heater and it ran for about 6 hours before shutting down. I've used the troubleshooting guide in the "Workbook JXi Pool & Spa Heater" here: https://www.doheny.com/media/Pdfs/7609-instructions.pdf.
Background:
Chlorine Pool
Heater purchased and installed in August 2015
Behavior
According to the troubleshooting manual, I skipped to step 13 since the blower was on and working. Everything else seemed to checkout. I have now replaced:
Thanks,
Jack

Behavior
- Blower turns on and remains on throughout
- After a few seconds of purging, the igniter starts to glow
- After 35 or so seconds, I hear a clicking sound, ignitor stops glowing - no ignition
- After another 30 seconds the ignitor begins glowing again, but fails same as above
- Tries 3rd time, then shuts down with *** FAULT - CHECK IGN STEPS *** message
According to the troubleshooting manual, I skipped to step 13 since the blower was on and working. Everything else seemed to checkout. I have now replaced:
- Ignition Control Unit
- Gas Valve
- I noted that the two wires connected to the Exhaust Temp Fusible Link are blackened.
- The gas valve is opening and releasing gas (I cracked the union during operation after the click and gas was flowing into blower)
- None of the tubes are blocked, crimped, or cracked
- The exhaust is blowing at normal force and the blower intake has good suction, there does not appear to be any obstruction to airflow
Thanks,
Jack
