Hi all - when I started my pool (late) and started my SLAM, I noticed a slight leak at the discharge connection of the pump.
From the operating manual https://images.inyopools.com/cloud/documents/jandy-flopro-pump-owners-manual.pdf, the model states that the discharge pump had a union to eliminate leaks...well, I'm new to plumbing and pool maintenance, but it appears that wasn't used on this install.
Now, the question - how do I fix? Should I add back a union at the pump discharge threads and cut the pipe, fit with a part that joins to the union, or should I just try to detach, use thread tape, plumber paste, etc as it appears to have been done at the time of install?
It says in the manual that the discharge port is 2 inch...but all the other lines in and out of the pipe are 1 1/2 inch.
P.S. I know not all my words above are plumber accurate! But, once I know the best approach, I'll happily research all the correct pipes.
