Jandy ePump noise when under 40 degrees

Greetings TFPers!

So I've had this Jandy variable speed pump for about 4-5 years now. Every winter I suffer through the hideous noise. It doesn't seem to harm anything other than eardrums and my sanity. Anyone living where temps drop below 40F that owns one of these pumps knows what I'm talking about. I can't believe that, after several years, I still can't find any fix online. I figure it will be on this site if I ever find a solution.

I'm all ears (what's left of them). 😖

The basic seal has a plastic primary ring and the ceramic seat is not polished.

This creates friction and noise and the seal wears out too fast.

A Carbon or silicon carbide primary ring with a polished ceramic or silicon carbide seat has less friction and more durable materials, which causes less friction, less heat and a longer lasting, more reliable seal.

Thanks for the info. The noise is only present under specific temperature conditions, otherwise noise-free. No leaking or other evidence of bad seal.

Model: JEP2.0, Regal Beloit Motor
Your pump is one the ones that had a Century (owned by Regal Beloit) V-Green 2.7 motor (or at least model of the V-Green made for Jandy, they would never say). If it is the bearings an electric motor shop should be able to replace them. There are many shops in Vegas.
