Hello! I’m new and hope with your help I can feel more comfortable on purchasing RS aqualink vs RS 4. What would be the price difference if you know ? Just feels it shouldn’t cost 1k for 2 extra relays. I would really appreciate the answer. Thanks! I have pool and spa built right now and at the point to decide on the automation and seems like a very handy feature to control my pool, spa, 2 water cascades and light, oh yes and extra jets in the spa. The problem I’m having is the price difference! Please help!

Have you seen the attached from Jandy? This outlines what is in each system
You need to ask if you are getting more than 2 valve actuators. Also the PCB is different to operate the 2 or more additional HP relays.
Pricing is crazy now, plus based on availability.
Do you have 1 pump or 2 pumps? The second one would be to control your water features if you set it up that way.
Do you have 1 light or 2 (1 in spa and 1 in pool)? Do you want to control them separately or as a group?
Also, how will you control the system? Do you plan to use your PC and phone app then that requires an antenna? Or will you use the One Touch panel?

Thanks ! Crazy price! Do you think I need bigger than 50 amp electric box to have all that plus landscape lights later ? Or need 70? Thanks!

Landscape lighting is low amps. What is more important is how many pumps, heater, air blower, pool and spa lights, etc. What has the PB spec'ed out for your electrical needs?

Thank you for response! Originally it was 50 amp box quoted and when I mentioned I will need lights at the patio he came up with this and charging me: $1200 for 50-100lft 2 gang outlets 110v power runs, $400 1-2 gang outlets on the back Of the house To daisy chain, $160 for Adding 3/4 conduit run/slub for future patio power and $550 main power upgrade from 50amp to 70. He said I need expansion on my box from 50 to 70 to get the outlets 2 at the each patio side and 1 across the yard. It just sounds like a lot of money for 3 outlets in the back. Thanks!

There are many of us agree that plumbing and electrical for a pool is not cheap. A good electrician would know what is needed to ensure no circuit is overloaded.
