Jandy Aqualink PDA won't control programmed start stop for filter pump

Equipment new in 2018. We set the program for the filter pump to run daily starting 10 am stopping 5 pm. New behavior is filter pump not starting on programmed time. We can turn pump on and off with the PDA, but the programmed actions do not work.

We returned to home with pool after 6 months up north and pool service never reported this, and pool ran daily on the 10 to 5 filter pump program. We noticed the low battery message on the PDA screen and replaced the two AA batteries. No more message about batteries, but still the wonky behavior with filter pump program.

Can we control the program in the panel outside where the equipment resides? How would a daily filter pump start stop program be set there, so the pool runs as we want without the PDA working?

Welcome to TFP.

I am confused.

We set the program for the filter pump to run daily starting 10 am stopping 5 pm. New behavior is filter pump not starting on programmed time.

What time does the pump start?

We returned to home with pool after 6 months up north and pool service never reported this, and pool ran daily on the 10 to 5 filter pump program.

If the pool ran daily on the 10 to 5 filter pump program then what is the problem?

We noticed the low battery message on the PDA screen and replaced the two AA batteries. No more message about batteries, but still the wonky behavior with filter pump program.

And what is the wonky behavior?

Can we control the program in the panel outside where the equipment resides? How would a daily filter pump start stop program be set there, so the pool runs as we want without the PDA working?

Unfortunately the Aqualink cannot be programmed from the outside control panel.

You need an Aqualink control panel or iAqualink app to program it.

Are you saying that the program time of 10am to 5 pm is turning on and off the pump but it is not matching to the actual time of day?

Does the PDA time match actual time of day. Not the program time but the actual time
When I had a PDA, I found that the time on the system would occasionally have a different time than actual time

Also, you most likely have a 9V battery that keeps time on the PCB, ensure that 9V battery new.

The program is for ON at 10 and OFF at 5. The pump does not go on at 10. It can be turned on using the PDA.

5 o'clock comes and the pump does not turn OFF. The PDA control can be used to turn it off. The PDA has gotten wonky in the last two days and the time of day does not read correctly, after having checked it for correct 12 hours prior.

It worked (program function) last week, then stopped working. I looked at the PDA screen and a message said batteries are low. Two brand new AAs went in, I reset the time, but the program of 10 to 5 does not operate the pump.

I am just saying what I said in the opening post, using different wording.

I would do 2 things.
Turn power off to the AquaLink system at the breaker - let it be off for couple of minutes - then turn power back on to let the system reset. Then ensure the AquaLink time is same as actual time of day. Turning off power will not erase any programming

If that does not work. Then delete the pump program, Reboot the system again. Then reprogram the pump pump schedule.

The program reads the AquaLink time so ensure that is aligned with actual time of day.

The pda is just an interface into aqualink. Nothing that happens with the pda will affect the program. Can you post a picture of your pda with the schedule showing?
