Jandy actuator valve for spa spillover

Currently we have our spa actuator valve open a little to let the spa still over as i like hearing the water and seeing it flow over. Is this sufficient to keep the water flowing and checmials in the spa? I have a attached a photo.

Yes, that is the whole purpose of the spillover spa..

But, it will just drive your pH through the roof.. The aeration is what makes the pH increase.
