I’m not sure if this should be in this reply but my jacuzzi heater won’t go past 92 today. It worked yesterday but today 92 max and the only thing that changed is that the pool guy cleaned the filters today. They say they would not have touched anything heater related but could it really be a coincidence?

Any ideas?

thank you.

Sorry, the problem persists. A few days later we went to hit the pool or the Jacuzzi in the same situation occurred again. I repeated the steps to reset the circuit breaker and then it works fine. Do you think this is a problem with the phone application or the equipment directly?

Somewhat of the same issue as above so I am using the same thread. Jacuzzi heats but only to a maximum of 98 degrees. I have the heater unit set to the max of 104 and the phone app set to 102 but the heater only gets the temp to about 97/98. When I am in it, I feel it turn on and blow hot air but then it turns off in about 15 seconds. Any ideas?

Please create your signature with details of your pool and equipment.

Is your heater controlled by automation?

When you say the temp gets to 97/98 where is that being displayed and measured from?

I will create the signature although I dont have any info with me at work. I know its a Pentair system with ScreenLogic. I am seeing the temperature through the Pentair phone app. I am pretty sure its not hotter than its reading because I am pretty familiar with what a 102-104 temp would feel like vs 98. Thank you.

First thing to check is the calibration of the water sensor in the ET system. You can check it with a multimeter. See Temperature Sensors - Further Reading

What does the temperature on the MasterTemp heater show when the ET says 98? Do you have a thermometer to measure the actual spa temperature? Let's rule out the temperature sensors in the ET and heater.

So after trying to heat the jacuzzi last night, I realized I may have another issue. At the heater, which I tried to show you by video but the file was too large, the temperature reading is bouncing all over the place from 94 to 126 and the "Service Heater" red light is periodically blinking. Would you say I have an issue? Any idea whom usually services the heaters? Mine was just installed 2 years ago. At this point it wont heat over 80 degrees.

If installed by a professional two years ago with two other Pentair products ( I see a pump and automation) you have a three year warranty.

OK, I thought you had a Jacuzzi brand heater and you have a Pentai9r MasterTemp heater. We can do better helping with the MasterTemp.

At the heater, which I tried to show you by video but the file was too large, the temperature reading is bouncing all over the place from 94 to 126 and the "Service Heater" red light is periodically blinking.

This being the temperature reading on the heater display?

It is either the:
  • temperature sensor thermistor failing
  • A wiring problem such as a critter chewing on a wire
  • or the main board failing
Have you opened up the heater and examined the temperature sensor and wiring?

Test the temperature sensor with a multimeter?

Replacement thermistor is p/n 42001-0053S

Your manual is here --> https://www.pentair.com/content/dam.../heaters/Manual-MasterTemp-472592-English.pdf

Everything visually seems ok. I’m not familiar with a multimeter but I’ll do some research.
