My Maytronics Sigma purchased in may of 2023 started acting up the other day, first stopping mid cycle and giving me a communication error on the app, suggesting to unplug the cable and reinstall. I did this and it appeared to solve the problem. Later in the day long after the cycle would have finished the robot started all by itself. The next morning I placed it back in the pool and the impeller would spin for a second or two and then stop. I contacted a local pool store that is authorized to work on them and asked if they would do warranty work even though I didn't purchase it there. They said there would be a $100.00 charge to do the warranty work. I opted to pay the $100.00 vs paying to ship it to Maytronuics. They called me the next day and said they had ordered a new cable as one of the three lugs on the motor was badly corroded. When I asked what would cause the corrosion he indicated high CH, I said because I had a vinyl pool I didn't think the CH level was critical. He started to lecture me on proper chemistry levels. When I Look back (I have not checked this in a while as I didn't think it was important for my vinyl pool) at my CH data, I see several readings at 325 and then 100. I have a five year old SWG that I replaced recently and looking at the plates there is zero build up and they have never been cleaned. Does this make any sense?
