Issues with losing pump prime

Yes and no. Just trying to be ready with what I may encounter. My pool supply is near work, would typical home center ball valves work fine in pool environments? I can get parts easily today, but may not this weekend.

So far, no signs of the leak with the shaving cream. I do smell nice though.

I am going to do a thorough disassemble and relube all the rings and see if that does the trick.

Well, found out the source of the airleak. It was both of the older gate valves. When I looked at them after disassembly, they were rotten rubber that finally cracked from being dry over the winter. I replaced with 2 new ball valves and all is working normally now.
