My lovely housekeeper, in an attempt to help me out during a particularly stressful week, mistakenly bought animal salt instead of pool salt. She dumped the bag in before I caught the mistake. The iron in the animal salt has stained a swath from the dump point to the main drain. I have spent the past few hours reading TFP for the instructions on removing the stain. Of course, my indoor pool will behave differently than most outdoor pools during the process. And also, the stain is so isolated that I am going to try to spot treat it first. The stain is not very dark, so hopefully that means the iron introduced is not a lot.
Can I be in the pool while using a fabric bag of acid? It would be easier for me to get it where I need it to be. But if it is unsafe for me to be in the water during the process, then of course I will figure out something else.
A friend of mine suggested using "sparkle up" after using the sequestrant. I have not been to a pool store in a decade (since learning TFP method of pool care). So, I will not walk into one and ask about a product. Not when I know you guys will steer me straight every time. What do you guys think of the product to remove the iron from the water?
And if you guys have anything specific to add concerning my INDOOR POOL, please let me know.
