Is this stain is algae or not?

Hi all, so long story short, I SLAMMed, our pool filled completely with dark brown storm water after a flood, I slammed again, but this time around our steps and some of the other "plastic" pieces of the pool (eg: the frame around where water enters the skimmer) have this stain that doesn't appear to be easily brush-off-able with our pool brush. For some reason this one spot on the step is fine tho. Pretty weird. Has anyone seen this? Is it an algae stain or something else?

Try putting a vitamin C tablet on the steps and see if the stain lightens. If so it is likely metal staining as a result of the high ph and FC during the slam. You may need to do AA treatment to remove the stains and then use a metal sequestrant.
