Newly single mom here on a crash course of learning all things pool maintenance related (oh, and no child support so trying to manage costs!)....

Our pool is 3 years old - never had to change lights thus far. We have 3 lights - one in the hot tub and two in the pool. One of the pool lights is not fully coming on. Under the water, I can clearly see something red and something green lit up as the pictures show, it's not fully displaying color like the others.

So questions:
1. Does this mean the light bulb needs to be replaced? Or could this be some other problem. This is newly happening.

2. Is this something I can do myself? Do I need to drain the pool?

3. I don't even know what type of bulb other than it's a LED color changing one. Our equipment is Pentair and it's through the pentair app that I turn the lights on/off. Do I have to get a Pentair bulb or are there others to consider or does that possibly cause issues with having the same color scheme in the pool?

**Edit w/ Additional info** Just got back from Leslie's and they asked when I look at the light is it one continuous bulb or multiple bulbs. I said that it appears to be multiple bulbs. They then told me that this is not a DIY thing - that in order to replace these, the entire wiring to the junction box is touched along with the entire casing. He also said this will run me $500 - $600 bucks.

I've posted a few pictures. The first 2 are the light that is not working correctly. First is from last evening and then this morning. The last 2 pictures are of the light on the other end of the pool that is working fine - first from last night and then of this morning. So comparing pictures 1 and 3, then compare pictures 2 and 4 and you can see the clear difference.

There are more experts around, but I can start by saying you do not have to drain the pool. The light has one screw at the top, then the housing will come out of the niche and you can raise it to the side of the pool to work on. Google Pool light change or something similar to find many Youtube videos on how the lights and housings work.

For the main part, the Pentair LED lights have many problems, it could be a variety I guess - others have started a very good write up and explanation about them here - Pentair LED Pool Lights - Further Reading
