Recently bought house that came with pool. We had to close it for yard work. It had algae growth while it was closed which I treated with shock. However there is black stuff of wall all around. Hard to brush off and I see broken leaves/organic material and greenish colour coming off when brushing it. Reading this forum it does seem like black algae but it is usually hard to brush off? How to best treat it?

For algae, we follow the SLAM Process. Works very well if you follow that protocol carefully. You'll also need a good test kit at home. I'll post some links below to help you with that as well. Let us know if you have any questions.
