I keep running into “Check VersaFlo” errors. I had a tech come out and he said the unit was clean but the valve/plunger was stuck. After resetting that, the heater ran for an hour and then back to the same error. I’m thinking just disable the VersaFlo entirely and let the water pass through the heater full time. I just don’t know the correct way to do that.

I’m not the original owner so any warranty information is long gone, so not really concerned with the water flowing through the heater.

Never mind… I found the enable/disable in service menu. Problem is you cannot disable it if there’s an issue I suppose. I can hear the solenoid trying to move but it must be jammed. I’ll take it apart and lubricate it or something.

Watch this installation video.

It looks like if you disconnect the green bypass motor wires, the pink wires, and rejumper the pink wire connector, the heater should no longer know it has the Versaflo.

Then figure out how to leave the bypass valve open.
