Is there a good way to block the spa spillway to raise the water level

Hi folks, I have a newly built inground gunite spa that is 18 inches above the patio and has a spillover into the pool.

Now that I’ve tried it for the first time, I discovered that unfortunately I made the benches a little too high. As a result when my family and I sit in it, the water level is only at about mid chest (so about two inches or so below the shoulders). This is not very comfortable when the weather is chilly and everybody wants to sit lower in the warm water. Ideally I think we’d like for the water level to be just above the shoulder.

At this point I think the only way to address this is to raise the water level of the spa which is determined by the spillway (see picture). I’m basically imagining that I could purchase something that would act as a little dam across the spillway and that way the water level in the spa could be raised by a few inches and allow us to be more comfortable.

Has anybody seen or know of a good product like that? Ideally it would be something removable without too much hassle if let’s say during the summer we prefer the lower water level.

Maybe something like those flood barrier bags that you fill with water? Probably would be hard to find one that small but you could just not fill it all the way.
