is pool calculator .com trustworthy? The email to cancel your account bounced back when I emailed.

Today, I decided to support them and pay for the service after using it for 2 years and had a question about the app. When I went to email support @pool calculator. com it bounced back. I know it's completely silly think they're just going to steal my credit card info after putting in all this work for so long to provide a useful service. But I still can't help the voracious need to just check in here to see if something is going on over there.

Not sure on the legitimacy, but a quick gander there and they give some pretty awful advice — like suggesting Dichlor shock is the best overall sanitizer, and liquid chlorine will cause wild pH increases.

Stick with PoolMath; it’s optimized for the TFP protocols and not full of ads and bad advice.

The poolcalculator used to be loosly affiliated with TFP and looked like the old poolmath webpage. It was later sold and is no longer associated with TFP, even though you can use TFP as one of the settings for parameters. All the bad advice links came much later.

does anyone have contact info for the pool calculator people? there's no working email address I can find.
I found a link on their website to 'Terms', which included the following contact info:
Pool and Spa Resources, LLC 1109 W. Main, Suite 320 Boise, ID 83702 [email protected]

Maybe better luck with the poolandsparesources.com domain?

Otherwise a reverse lookup on the address above points to this company...

Not sure of the affiliation (or if it's a bogus address), but there's a phone number on that SEC report.

I used Poolcalculator for a while before I knew about PoolMath and TFP. Once I emailed them about a bug I found, but never got a reply. They don't seem to be interested in improving their product. My take is that they just want to skim off as much money as possible. They probably benefit from the fact that the Poolcalculator gets mentioned in earlier posts on TFP, when it was still affiliated with TFP.

I don't want to be another crazy person on the internet saying a business is a scam but so far it's not looking good based on the fact that the only contact email on the site is bouncing back and I can't cancel my 2 week trial. I really don't want to have to cancel my credit card. I have so many auto pays attached to it.
Call your credit card company now and advise them of your issue and what you have tried to do to cancel. Give them the domain name and tell them that if you see the charge it will be a fraudulent charge that you will dispute. Having this on record now provides you some leverage that the credit company needs to block the charge.

You should be able to cancel the transaction with your cc company without canceling your whole card. There may be a fee involved. If you yell fraud they may make u get a new #

I'd still recommend to email to the address that magiteck and I posted. Looks that they changed their email but didn't update the address at all locations in their website.

When it gets to fraud accusations, you should demonstrate that you made a serious attempt in contacting them.

You're absolutely right. I got a response from them. Will update if everything works out.

Update: I got a response from the other address. It took a few back and forth emails for them to clearly confirm they would not charge me.

I also let them know that the email on the site was bouncing back. They did not acknowledge that at any point.

I would not be surprised if I do get charged based on how little evidence I got they were actually reading my emails.
