Is phosphate treatment my final answer???

It was worth it for the peace of mind. You would have had 5-6 years to ponder if you should have tried the $40 fix.

When mine died i spent a week fiddling with it. I casually told the CFO that I was almost certain it was done and was going to give it one last chance. She had become such a fan of the 'salt pool' she demanded to know why i hadn't replaced it yet. Well, thanks sweetie. Your approval of funds is touching. But *I'm* not ready to let it go yet.

That we can do. No Hail Mary's. Just good old fashioned collective knowledge and science. Easy peasy. :)
Thanks @Newdude and you’ll be just the guy I’m looking for when it arrives. I don’t have any fancy automation for run time so I’d like to figure out what % output works for my pool on a 24/7 basis. I can’t rely on myself to remember to turn it up/down on a daily basis. If I’m remembering correctly, that’s how you run things with yours?

Yup. Most of us do. Everybody starts by micromanaging it. The FC is too high on a cloudy day. Oh NO !!! (But you're still 16 under SLAM and safe up to SLAM). Eventually most people figure out what they need on high loss days and leave it at that. If it produces a little more on other days, lalalalalala you were busy at the store and came home to a sparkling pool.

It is exactly like what you did above. You bumped your FC to not be concerned with it. You weren't worried in the least if you lost a little extra FC to the sun with a higher level. You wanted to be covered so you could do other things.

You test daily at first to make sure the last adjustment is good, and then you test once or twice a week to make sure its still good. Every 2-4 weeks you need one click either for more production or less. The first half of the season they are all 'more' clicks. The back half you are turning it down each time.

Well you are paid up in full with those cute pics!! THANKS! Started my day off with a smile that is for sure!

What is going to be fun is to watch you learn how to care for YOUR pool then see you jumping in to help others learn how to care for their pool! I can still remember the first time I saw a question that was not answered yet AND I KNEW the answer!!

What I did was READ!! OH so much reading! I started in the "Just getting started" area to learn the beginners mistakes and went to the algae area to see what I needed to NOT do LOL then ended up in the Under Construction as I like to spend other peoples money LOL

Kim…you and I sound like we’d be FAST friends! Haha

I have been reading so so much. When my husband rolls over at 1am he’s like “are you on that pool board again?”

MYOB, sir! This doesn’t concern you!
