Hello,

We are new to pools. Our house came with a doughboy 28x16. It was not taken care of the last year and the pool had been half empty for at least one summer. We attempted to patch and refill, but liner was dry rotted along top and tore. We are going to attempt to replace the liner ourselves. We took the liner down and found the steel rusted in the two spots the liner had tiny holes. Pics included. Is this salvageable?

Good morning and welcome to TFP! To answer your question, I would say no. :( Too much rust and more than just surface corrosion. The lower portion of the steel is especially bad. I don't see the steel having the ability to support the weight of the water pushing out. I think it's time to put that one to rest and start fresh. Sorry.
