My pool has a spa with a 5" pentair light fixture that has never worked. I thought it was the bulb so I went to change it and discovered that it was full of water and that a hole was melted thought the side of the fixture next to some kind of probe inside of the light (maybe a overtemp probe?). Can this be replaced without having to muck around with the gunite pool wall? The back of the light is not accessible.

P.S. I wondered why this light didn't trip the gf breaker and discovered that the hot side wire had been removed from the breaker.

Thanks,

Dean

Welcome to TFP.

Depends if there is a problem with pulling the light cord out of the conduit.

There may be reasons why the light was disconnected and abandoned.

Wow, I didn't realize that it was just a conduit on the back side of the mounting plate in the pool. I thought there was a seal around the wires. The video was very help. Thank you!
