So I went out today and found my SWG has a blinking green cell light and the word cell on the screen.

i opened it up and there was a decent amount of buildup even though I cleaned it like 2 months ago, but worse than that a chunk of one of the blades came out.

I cleaned it, put it back together and it’s still displaying the same error.

does anyone know if you can replace the blades?4B8F12D6-13AB-4699-97B7-A1ADAD75B14B.jpeg277319D4-456B-4E2E-A29F-EE8C9F727D98.jpeg

Rich,

Most cells last 5 to 7 years. I've gone through three IC40's.. One was almost 9 years old, one was about 8 years old and the one at my house was 6 or 7 years old.

For me, they all had the same failure mode. The cell light would flash even though the cell was clean. If you recycled power, they might come up and work for a little while and then go back to flashing.

The coating on the plates gets used up in creating the chlorine. Think of them as a gas tank that you can't refill. The only good news is that all you need is a replacement cell, as the power center should still be ok. You can buy the cell and install it yourself, and still get the standard warranty from Pentair.

Thanks,

Jim R.
