Is it possible I did my fas dpd test wrong?

My scooper was caked with dry powder. Could having too much or too little powder effect my results?
I tested last night and had 10.5 fc
This morning at 8.5 fc. We recently switched over to swg. I ran out of powder for test 3 days into trying to figure out how long to run it. I know I at least had 5 fc by the end of the day everyday by oto drops. My target was 3-5 so I should of had plenty of chlorine.

You can't really add too much R-0870 powder. It is possible to get inaccurate results if you use too little.
Just run the scoop under the faucet and it should get the crust off.

Ok will do. I find it odd that I would have algae after my fc is running at 10 in mid morning and my target is only 3-5.

If you were running an OCLT when you tested 10.5 at night and 8.5 in the morning, then I'd re-run the test just to make sure...

Make sure your SWCG is off and that you test after sundown and before sunrise (sorry)...

You did not say what your CYA level was, but assuming your target of 5 is correct, then that level will keep you from getting algae, but it is not near high enough to kill algae if you already have it.

Repeated my oclt. No loss at all and no Cc. Whew. Now I know for sure all that dirt on bottom is dirt. We get a lot of dust from our dirt road
