I'm pretty sure my last post involved how to fix a pool wand as well. This is the second time in a matter of months that I have had a pool wand continuously collapse in on itself while I'm trying to sweep my pool. Both times I have bought one of the telescoping wands at one of the local home improvement stores- Lowes in my case. And both times, the internal black plastic ring starts to slide up the pole causing the wand to collapse in on itself while Im trying to push the broom along the bottom of the pool. I should also mention that I'm pretty neglectful of sweeping the pool in the first place since I don't even use it so its not like these things are seeing regular use, let alone intensive use. So can anyone walk me through how to repair these things? Or do I have only an elementary understanding of how these things work and its a 20 second fix/adjustment that every average pool owner knows? I swear if I had a way to transport it, I would simply use a 12-20 foot solid piece of wood or aluminum as a handle to prevent this absolutely silly annoyance if they made them. I'd almost send someone a case of beer if they could look at their own want to see what I'm talking about and offer a solution.
I'm attaching pics of the black piece of plastic that slides up the pole when you try to push. They're always right under each section of the wand screws into the next piece. And for as effective as they are, they might as well be made out of bread.
