Is Adding DE Powder after Opening Filter Required

I just cleaned my filter and now I have DE blowing out the jets. I want to open the filter and check the manifold for leaks. For me to do this with my system, I have to drain the filter of the water out to my lawn. I'm not backwashing, just trying to get inside the filter. If I do this, do I need to add back any DE powder when I put it back together?

Yes, you will.

Maybe not 100%, but a lot of DE will come out when you drain the water.
