Intex spa fans - giving up on old bubble model & considering the 4jet/swg version..
a few questions
1. why are there no spas on the intex site anymore? are they discontinuing all their spa products? if you search for spas, you get zero results if you try to actually look at the details of any of them. that's a little concerning if i'm going to buy a new one. vminnovations has storefronts at walmart, amazon & ebay so they pop up at all those sites..but again..they seem to be the only reseller now.
2. i had a bubble spa (basic tan intex) for about 3 years and was disappointed with how corroded it was and have reached the point now where it constantly 'codes out' e90, e96..so i think its time to retire it. i struggled with leaks, wrapping it like crazy with teflon tape and the water flow sensor is shot--corroded (scraped it with a screwdriver to clean it) and it looks like you cant buy that but instead have to replace the whole pump assembly for the same cost as a new spa. it will heat about 4 hours then the dreaded e96 pops up which is annoying to reset and my spa will never stay hot at this rate.
3. having said all that, i do like familiarity and the dark gray model (210 gallon) with the salt water system and 4 jets (instead of bubbles) for only a couple hundred dollars more looks very appealing.
they make this in 2 versions; swg and normal chlorine. any reason i wouldn't go with the salt water option? i looked at the coleman model but i think the gray intex looks the best. my wife will shoot me if i show up with that green hot tub for our screened porch.
