Intex pump random issue

Bought a used intex pump and sand filter model SF90110-1. Been working flawless 24/7 til today. I turned the pump off to switch from filter to backwash. Pushed the start button and just a humming sound, no water pumping. Turned it off, then immediately back on and it worked fine. Did this twice so far. It has also fired right back up after the first power on attempt as well. Im mechanically inclined and not afraid to dig in if needed. Thoughts on what is going on?

Well, they don't make spare parts for the motor on these pumps. They don't have a capacitor so it is probably a centrifugal switch going out. I'm not sure if you can access the impeller but you could unplug the pump and check and make sure there isn't anything stuck in there that might prevent the pump from starting.
