We have an intex 18foot above ground pool with sand filter.
We've been experiencing a strange issue when, with the multiport valve in the backwash position we get very little flow. I can hear the pump is working like it should.
When I push the valve handle down all of a sudden I get tremendous flow though the filter.
Any thoughts on why pushing the handle down would significantly increase flow? Furthermore, why is flow being restricted twd when the handle is up in its typical position?

Are you still having the issue? If so, I would recommend posting a couple pics of your equipment pad so we can see the filter and how everything is set up. Thanks.
