Intex material across horizontal bars fraying, birds pulling on it

On my Intex AGP, the material that wraps around the horizontal bars is fraying due to age, and now the birds are pulling on it to try to use it as material to build their nests with.

Anything I can do to protect it or make it so the birds can't keep pulling it up? Hopefully without making the pool look silly like if I duct taped it although with the Intex being gray/silver....

You could cut some some PVC pipe so it will slip over the edges. OR duct tape LOL

I think duct tape may have the lead there, as I don't have any PVC laying around. While probably effective, I just wonder if duct tape will take away from the aesthetic the Intex pools have. I don't want to make it look silly

Wonder if a cut pool noodle would slip over the rail?

You can get duct tape in many different colors and patterns now. Surely there's one that will suit the aesthetics of your pool.
