I think we share the same problem with the vinyl air ring, and I live in Southern Canada. ( Sun is not nearly as harsh, and the pool is only in use for about 4 months)
The uppermost part of the ring turned from blue to a gray with a sandpaper like texture. It became brittle and finally developed a few cracks. This is after only 2 years of use.
My pool is the Intex, Easy Set pool ( 12' by 30") and I ordered it from California. While the ring is suppose to have a UV inhibitor in the vinyl, it certainly is not doing the trick.
Wondering if anybody knows of a good vinyl protector that can also handle the splashing.
