We just bought our 5 year old a new Intex the 10 x 30 Easy Set with filter. Got it up and running yesterday but we do have a couple of questions. Neither my wife or I have every maintained a pool, even one of this small nature. We bought the 1 inch Chlorox tablets with the Duck dispenser. We can't quite seem to find anywhere about how many tablets to put in, We don't want it over chlorinated but it would be nice to put a couple of tablets in and not worry for a little while. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also the included filter/pump seems to be working ok but not exactly powerful. But again what do we know. would it be worth it to upgrade a stronger pump or would that be overkill. The pool holds 1018 gallons and the pump is rated for 30gph.

Thanks for any help.

Reading the reviews here and here, it looks like most people are putting one tablet in the dispenser every 4-7 days. Maybe you could get test strips to make sure you're not over-chlorinating?

As for the pump, it depends on how long you plan on keeping the pool. I've never maintained a pool either, but I chose to upgrade to a sand filter with a salt water system. Overkill, put I plan on using my little puddle for as many years as I can :D

Good luck!

thanks for your reply That's a good idea to get a tester, will start out with one tablet and see how that goes.

I have a 16x48 pool. I use the big puck in a floating dispenser. I use 1 puck at a time and get about 2 weeks. I have 2 slots open and keeps my level just right. The filters that come with the pool work ok running for a few hours a day. For that size of pool it's not really worth the investment of a sand filter unless u plan on upgrading the pool in the future and then u could just swap over the filter.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, this pool is really just the next step up from an inflatable pool, wasn't going to get to gung ho on it., but really cool none the less. I fiured out my filter/pump issue, I had the wrong head on the high inlet so I switched that up and it's running with alot more power. I put 2 tablets in the duck dispenser and set the level on the 2 slots. tomorrow going to pick up a testing kit and hopefully find a small ladder. So far this little pool is a lot and fun and perfect for his size and for us to sit in and cool off. very pleased, so far, even in the little time w'e've had it up and running.

thanks for all the help I'm sure I'll have more questions as the summer wears on.
