Just replaced my Whisperflo 2 hp pump. And filter pressure dropped from 25 to 10 psi @ 65 gpm.
In-floor gauge from 20 to 4 psi.

I can't run the pump any higher or I will get a pressure alert. Is it a setting or something else wrong?

Can you post both model numbers of the pumps, and the RPMs you were and are running.

Where is the pressure alert coming from?

The old pump on high was likely pumping more gpm.

I believe you can adjust the pressure limit on the Intelliflo.

You will have a pressure difference...

What is the maximum pressure set to?

To find or set Maximum System Pressure:
1. Check that the green power LED is on.
2. Press Menu.
3. Press Select to select “Settings”.
4. Use the Up or Down arrows to scroll to “Min/Max”. Press Select.
5. Use the Up or Down arrows to scroll to “Set Maximum Pressure”.
6. Press Select to change the setting. The cursor will appear in the first number column (ones).
7. Record the pressure setting, and report back.
8. To cancel, press Back to exit edit mode without saving.
9. Press Back to exit.

That is odd. The pump pressure would be very close to your filter pressure. So you are no were near 30 psi.

No. The filter will not trap air.

I am not familiar with all the Intelliflo3 quirks. Let's see if @ajw22 has some ideas.

When was the last time you cleaned the filter?

How are you testing the water? I see you just lowered your CYA.. Great job...however, I'm concerned with the low FC for a period of time.

Limit errors can happen when you have algae, even if you cant see it.

Do this test tonight...Link-->Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

@mknauss is spot on...but there is no pressure sensor on the pump. The pump drive determines the effective pressure based upon the RPM and Watts. If the watts are too low for a given RPM, the error will occur because the drive thinks the pump is under a high restriction which it probably is...potentially due to algae...Do the Overnight Chlorine Loss test, so we can rule it out or in...

Can you also describe the water features of the pool? Number of skimmers, drains, returns and water features? Can you post a picture of the pad showing the layout and the valves?

Run the pump for a speed % and not a GPM flow and the pressure limit is disabled.

Using GPM flow don’t work well. Use % speed for the pump. Every 1% is 35 RPM.

Pool guy cleaned out all the grids beginning of summer. I don't think he has backwashed it since.
I know I have algae, my CYA was high. Hence the water exchange.
Also the reason for the pump change was the older pump died. I could run on low for a little while.

1 skimmer, 1 drain. Returns on the In-Floor Popups. There are 3-4 per zone.
3 waterfalls and one sprayer, which were not on.

I'll do my best for the image at night.

I thought one of the big selling points was Flow adjustments. I will check out % speed.
So don't worry about the alert? I know this is a larger pump. Just don't want to have any pressure issues.

Algae is your problem.

Backwash the filter.

Get on the algae problem, start the SLAM process. Link-->SLAM Process Expect to backwash the filter often during slam, particularly early in the SLAM. After backwash, note clean pressure running pump at 80-100%. Choose a % between 80 and 100, doesn't matter. Check your pressures with the same %. When the pressure rises 25% at your chosen speed %, backwash again. Algae will cause rapid pressure rise, particularly in a DE filter.

Change the pump speed to run 50% during slam which will be about 1700rpm, not GPM, to eliminate the alert issue for now. Run it up to your chosen filter pressure speed every time you check filter pressure.

We can work the flow adjustments later (hint...it's not about flow). Let's get this pool clear.

Ok changed everything to RPM's. Looks better running it @ 100% rpm, but I expected more pressure and gpm
Not a big deal, but shouldn't this pump be able to push more?
