Intellichlor SWG settings

I just installed my IC-40 SWG a couple of days ago and the SWG does not turn on when it is on a low flow. I have the intelliflo VS pump with easytouch 8. The SWG turns on whenever the main pool setting is on at high RPM but whenever it is on the low flow RPM (even if i change the low flow RPM to the same as the high flow RPM) the SWG does not turn on. Is there a setting that I need to go to in the screen logic to have the SWG running when the pool is on the low speed setting?

r,

Well, for sure something is not right... You should have a lot more than just low or high pump speeds, so I am a little confused. Please post screen shot of the following two set up pages..

dbtgallery.php

and...

When in "low" speed do you get a no-flow light on the SWCG or do all the lights on the cell go out? When the pump is not running, are any SWCG lights still on?

Thanks,

Jim R.

An Intelliflo pump is variable speed. You can use your ET to dial in whatever speeds you want for numerous different scenarios.

For your Pool mode, when the SWCG is generating, adjust the rpm assigned to that mode such that it just closes the flow switch to activate the SWCG. Then add 100 rpm for your final Pool mode speed.

When I am iin the low speed all of the lights on the cell go out as if it is off. When the pump is not running none of the lights are on. The lights are only on when the main pool pump is running. I will try and get the pictures later when I get to my computer.

Pool is 2850 RPM
Low Speed is 1700 RPM
Water Feature is 2600 RPM

For the setup circuits My pool circuit is on pool and on with freeze
My low speed circuit is on generic in the pool section and without freeze.

I appreciate your input in advance!

Your SWCG will only operate when in Pool mode. You can set your RPM lower such that the SWCG flow switch is closed and the SWCG operates.

r,

Your system is working just fine, the problem is that you must be in either the Pool mode or Spa mode to close the Pump/Filter relay and turn on the SWCG.

Look above at my IntelliFlo set up.. I am always in the Pool Mode.. But the pump will go to the highest speed it is told to go to.. So if I turn on Feature 1 the pump goes to 1400 RPM but I am still in the Pool Mode.. Turn on Feature 2 and the pump goes to 2000 and the waterfall jumps it up to 2700.. Note that you can't go down on speed unless you turn something off. The pump will always run the highest speed.

Try something like what I have and see if it does not work for you.

And good job on running the SWCG power through the Pump/Filter relay like you are supposed to do.. :thumleft:

Thanks,

ok thanks that makes sense to me. I am going to adjust the pool mode to 100 over the minimum to keep the SWCG on. Do I need to adjust the overall amount of time I run this then based off of what my free chlorine levels are running? I assume I want the SWCG not operating anywhere near 100%. '

On a side note with the screen logic app the intellichlor portion has an pool output and a spa output that can be adjusted. I dont have a Spa so that is set to 0%. What happens when you adjust the pool output setting if there is no spa? Is this like adjusting the SWCG from your phone or is this something different?

r,

It makes no difference to the SWCG if you run it at 100% for 1 hour or 10% for 10 hours... You just need to decide if you want it to produce a lot of chlorine in a short period of time or a little chlorine over a longer period of time. There is no right or wrong answer, whatever works for you...

If you don't have a Spa, just set the Spa value to zero... Although no matter where you set it, it won't matter as you will not be using the Spa mode. If you had a Spa, the automation would reduce the amount of chlorine the SWCG produces when in the Spa mode, because you are in a small body of water and you really don't want to be sitting in too much chlorine.

Thanks,
