IntelliCenter wiring to ic40

Hello I have a pool and spa unground and I am installing a new ic40 and have IntelliCenter without the swg power supply installed so I am using the Pentair ichlor power supply.

Current equipment that is up and running is a Pentair 240v variable speed pump, heater and IntelliCenter.

The pump is wired to the first relay power going to screws 1 and 3. The heater from what I can see has a wire going to the 4th screw. So my question is where do I get power for the swg power supply?

The Power Center, when wired for 240 VAC, gets its power from pins 2 and 4.. Pins 1 and 3 have constant 240 VAC from the circuit breaker and pins 2 and 4 have 240 VAC only when the relay is closed. This relay, the Pump/Filter relay, only closes when the pump should be running in the Pool or Spa modes.

Also, the Power Center's com port (Yellow and Green connections) gets wired to the IntelliCenter's com port (Yellow and Green connections). This allows the IntelliCenter to communicate with the Power Center and IC40.

Since you are not currently using a GFCI breaker for your pump, you can run the heater from just one leg (120 volts) of the 240 volts at pins 2 and 4 of the pump filter relay. (The way it is now...)

But, if you decide to upgrade to the required GFCI breaker for your pump, then the line going to the heater will immediately pop the GFCI breaker. To keep the GFCI from popping, you will need to remove the heater's neutral wire from the neutral bus bar in the EasyTouch and connect it to the neutral connection on the new GFCI breaker for the pump.

And just to make sure.. One side of the 240 VAC from the load side of the pump filter relay, needs to be connected to the Yellow transformer wire inside the SWCG Power Center, and the other side needs to be connected to the White transformer wire... Also, the Violet/Blue transformer wire and the Black transformer wire get connected together with a wire nut.

Thank you. Does the white wire from the swg does that go to the load side of relay with the orange wire from heater?

Also is gfi for pump required for safety? The IntelliCenter was installed by pool contractor so wondering if I need to have them fix it?

Having a GFCI is required for all pool pumps in most places. I don't know the specific rules for your City. Call your city's code department and ask.

The power to the SWCG is connected to pins 2 and 4 on the pump/filter relay. The White and Yellow wires from the SWCG transformer are interchangeable, so it does not matter which color goes to which pin, as long as one goes to pin 2 and the other goes to pin 4.

The heater wire being on pin 4 has no effect with a non-GFCI breaker. Just leave it where it is..

Thank you so much!!! One last thing. Sorry for all rookie questions. When I add salt for the first time should I remove the vacuum and hose or can I leave it?

If you can stand to see it in your pool, just leave it there...

When you add salt, you need to test the water to see how much is there first, and then determine how much more you need.

Then only add about 80% of what you think you will need and then wait 24 hours, and test again and then add more if necessary.

If you don't have a Taylor K-1766 salt test kit, you need to get one. No saltwater pool owner should be without one.

No harm as long as the Power Center is wired for 120 also..

But the same issue will occur if you update to a GFCI breaker for the pump. But, let's visit that issue if you decide to update the breaker.
