Intellicenter issues

I thought I’d ask a few questions on here about the intellicenter. I upgraded a couple months ago from intellitouch i5 with a mobile touch. The mobile touch was the 1st gen. First issue is the pentair pool app does not get the same data as the mobile touch. Looking at the SWG, I have an ic60 and when I open the pool app on my iPhone it has a message Cell OFF - need to add salt. Out at the intellicenter the message is different - Cold Water Cutoff. Clearly different messages.

Another oddity is you open the pool app sometimes it will give a message not able to connect to intellicenter. One day I left my intellicenter in service mode. Why can’t the pool app tell me it’s in service mode? One would think that it’s still connected to the network… maybe not.

Another thing is when you open the pool app it will give a message it’s not able to connect to the pool center but in this case one can click on the start pool Inchon and it changes to appear like the button is pushed and the pool is running but it’s not, you would think if there is not connection that the button or buttons for that matter would be disabled.

These are small issues as the pool is actually running the schedules and the swg is doing its thing based on temp and salt level and % set etc.

I think what bothers me most of all is the person(s) pool app bug reporting system as it does send a message and I’ve gotten responses but they tell me that it’s not a bug and it’s the expected behavior…. It seems they do not understand what I’m reporting.

This back and forth has been over a few months. Please tell me where it’s not a bug that the intellicenter message on SWG should be different than the pool app at the same time?

I think since I’ve had all my equipment replaced after a wild fire and used a pool professional install this time for warranty and the SWG had to be warranties each year for the first three years, due to the dreaded “0 PMM” message and the thermistor replaced… when I see that I get anxiety that it’s failed again but it’s ok and just in cold water cutoff that for some reason the pool app can’t tell me and I have to walk out to the pool equipment to get the “real” status on the system.

The IntelliCenter has quirks, bugs, and some poorly thought-out features. Sometimes, it is hard to figure out which one you are dealing with.

Pentair is challenged with getting updates to the IntelliCenter out. We will see if they can get a quicker pace now that they have 3.0 out.
