IntelliCenter & controller on pump

Saw this in another thread

When the pump is attached to your Intellicenter, the screen will read Display Not Active. You will control everything from the Intellicenter.

Will I be able to use pump's controller if I turn the IntelliCenter off but still have the interface cable connected to the pump? I suspect that it will be more convenient for me when vacuuming to use the pump's wall mount controller rather than the IntelliCenter.

You just put the IntelliCenter in the "Service" mode and then the pump is disconnected from the automation..
