Intellicenter-controlled system: new pump, SWG, and autofill system needed. Recs?

Hi Everyone,

I just had an intellicenter upgrade kit installed to replace my old intellitouch system. The entire pool and gear are 8 years old.

Right now, I have:
- Pentair VS Pump (model 353114.E)
- Autopilot salt chlorine generator (Pool Pilot Digital Nano)
- Levelor K110 Electronic Water Fill System

While installing, the tech noticed that my SWG system has probably not been functioning properly and may need to be replaced. Our VS pump has been making a bad whine for the past 2 years after a seal replacement, and probably needs to be replaced. Our Levolor unit has died (not the sensor, the actual unit) and needs to be replaced.

Given the system is now Intellicenter-controlled, what gear would you recommend to replace the above 3 items? It would be excellent if I could monitor all above 3 items through the pentair home app.

Thank you!

Get a Pentair Intelliflo3 pump with the optional touchscreen 011077 and the Intellichor SWG system.

How many gallons are in your pool?

You need to replace the Levelor system with a new one that will fit in where the current one is.

Thank you for your post. I’m not sure how many gallons my pool has. I know it is a small-ish, 268 sq. ft. pool with a spa, and goes from 3’ depth to 5’ depth.

Regarding your comment on the Levelor, did you mean you’d recommend replacing the broken one with another Levelor? The pool tech just estimated nearly $1700 for this, which I think is excessive. Is the Levelor capable of reporting its status to the intellicenter? If not, is there another system you’d recommend that I’d be able to monitor in the Pentair Home app?

Show us pictures of where and how your Levelor is installed.

No other autofill will go in the places where the Levolor is installed.

Levolor is from Jandy and will not communicate with the IntelliCenter.

Pentair has float type autofills that have no electronics or communication.

The LevelSmart has similar components to the Levolor.

I think it will cost about the same if you have a tech install it. And it will not communicate with your IntelliCenter.

There are only two components to the Levolor - the sensor control box or the fill valve.

The control box cost about $250 to $350…

You need to know the gallons in your pool to determine the size of the SWG cell you need and calculate your chemical additions.

We recommend an SWG cell at least 2X your pool volume. The Intelliclor has IC20, IC40, and IC60 cells suitable for pools up to 10K, 20K, or 30K, respectively.

There are calculators to help you determine your pool volume - Calculators - Further Reading

@ajw22 You are a master. Thank you so much for your thorough help. I appreciate this so much!

Based on your information above, I think I'd probably just end up replacing it with another Levolor. The part cost is so inexpensive, and I'm reasonably handy. I wonder if I might take on this project myself...?

I found the permitting documents and was able to find that my pool is exactly 8,019 gallons. So which intellichem system would you recommend for me?

Go for it. Let us know how we can help.

You want the IntelliChlor NOT IntelliChem.

Get the IC40 cell.

@ajw22 can I ask why you recommended the pump with the touchscreen here? I have the intellicenter to control the pump.

Are you just recommending this in case the intellicenter dies or fails someday, as a backup way to control the pump?

It depends on how phone and app-dependent you want to be for making any adjustments to the pump.

The IntelliCenter cannot access all the pump settings.

That also. If your IntelliCenter is having problems, you or whoever is trying to fix things become dependent on having a phone and app to control the pump.

I don't like to be phone and app-dependent and not have alternatives. Having the touchscreen gives you an alternative.
