Hi,

Hope everyone is doing great during holiday season.

Today, I tried to replace my old motor with 2 speed motor. everything seems fine until I ran test:
- low speed mode : run 3-5 seconds then stop.
- high speed mode: able to keep running.

Later, strong spark can be seen once case is opened, and the highlighted plastic part is broken. (still don't know the exact reason why and when it got broken, maybe got pressured by nearby screw).

Please kindly shed light on below :
- what's the usage of the plastic piece. I guess it is to isolate the 2 copper piece from other metal part?
- should 2 copper piece connect to each other all the time?
- any work-around now? can I buy this plastic part anywhere?

Any advice or recommendation is much appreciated.

The centrifugal switch needs to be replaced. If it came like that, file a warranty claim.
