I have a Rainbow Lifeguard 320 chlorinator used for pucks. Have stopped using the pucks since starting here at TFP, but I’m about to be out of town for 3 days and wanted to supplement with pucks while gone (CYA currently at 30 so feels like I can be safe to add 3 pucks which should increase my 12k gallon pool by about 9ppm CYA). However I have the chlorinator set to max level (5 of 5) and recall it would take forever for the pucks to fully dissolve. It looks like I have a massive amount of what appears to be a sort of calcification, both on walls and more importantly on the hole at the bottom where it feeds into plumbing. I assume this is slowing the release. Should I just scrape all this out? Any damage if that stuff goes through equipment?
