my tanning ledge takes up a good chunk of my pool square footage. I believe i just do 6" of concrete on the bottom of the steps and tanning area, then compacted soil or rock, then the top couple inches are actual concrete right? the top of it doesn't need to be the pool crete again does it?
Inground vinyl pool. do i need to do "pool crete" on my baja shelf / tanning ledge/steps?

I am currently working thru building a 14x32 vinyl inground pool with a baja shelf. I had left over concrete when doing the footer so I filled the base of the baja shelf with about a foot of concrete. Then I filled it with stone and will be doing Pool Crete on top of the stone for a clean and smooth layer for the vinyl.
Thank you. Royal swimming pools said pure concrete was fine for the top but I may lean towards poolcrete as well
