I'm getting estimates to replace my 14 x 28 inground vinyl liner..There seem to be very few companys here in Myrtle Beach area that do this work..The estimates I've gotten are high..How much should this cost? Does anyone have a recommendation for someone in my area? Myrtle Beach S.C, 29588

How much should this cost?
That's a loaded question nowadays. Everything is so much more expensive than it was a year ago. Either way, cost could depend on various aspects of your pool such as stairs, number of lights, returns, drains, and other ports. You might post some pics of your current situation and perhaps some others from your area can give you a decent comparison.

~$6,500 to have mine replaced recently in Charlotte - great job, I am very pleased, but about 50% more than a few years ago. My pool is similar to yours in terms of being relatively simple. Total bill was about $11K including refinish of entire floor and replacement of nicheless halogen light with an multi-color LED.

I have done mine last year at the same time of a major renovation. The cost for the liner replacement was the following:
  • Latham Urban Marble 30ga 15 X 30,
  • Free form pool with under liner stairs with anti-slip vinyl over the stairs
  • Installation
  • New joints
  • Rust sanding and primer
  • New Liner locking system
  • 1 water truck to fill it
  • 4260$ CAD ~3400 USD with current exchange rates
Cost would higher this year of course, also cost vary greatly by country and area so it is difficult to compare.

Good luck in your research!

Wow, That sounds high to me..The only thing that matters is that you are happy with the results..Thanks for your reply.
Harry - it was high - but I willingly paid it because I had a miserable experience last year with a dishonest and unqualified installer (who charged about $4,500 to do an absolutely terrible job.) That liner was literally thrown in the trash less than 12 months after the guy installed it. The guy I had do it this year is probably the best in the area and is booked months in advance. ( I reserved my spot in line last November...) Rather than risk another clown touching the pool, I paid the money for the sure thing installer and it was honestly worth it. (and I am praying it lasts a few years, because getting a liner two years in a row was painful.)

Understood. If you're happy, that's what's important...I wish you and your family many years of pleasure from your like new pool. I'm trying to verify the quality of work the company I got the quote from does. After hearing what you paid, the quote I got is low.. I may be able to just have the existing liner put back into the bead where it popped out..It's not leaking but,a bit faded..We'll see.
