I have a 14 year old inground 16x32 pool with a vinyl liner..liner replaced at the end of the season in 2015, so less than 2 years old. I'm noticing that a couple of the steps (I'm pretty sure they're fiberglass) are losing some of their support (a little bit of bounce when you stand on them), which of course leads me to be concerned that they will crack. There's not a huge 'bounce' to them (yet), but I'm noticing in a few places.
Any suggestions? The steps seem structurally OK right now, and the bounce isn't terrible, but I'm looking on some guidance on what to do? Leave them alone until something happens? Was wondering if one of these companies that pump grout under sidewalks, etc. would be able to pump something back under there with a minimal amount of damage to the surround concrete.
Crazy as it sounds, wondering if you could even drill a tiny hole in the steps themselves and pump some support under there in the places where it's bouncing and then seal that back up, although I'm relatively certain that's a bad idea?
Thanks in advance.
Gene
