I just moved into a house with a 35'x17',10' at the deep end. Beautiful pool area. The problem is I rent,landlord is leaving the pool to me. The piping is so old,someone poured concrete in the brain on the deep end. I believe they may have done the same to the skimmer area. The question is"can putting above piping work efficiently on a pool this deep? Help would be appreciated!!!!

It sounds like you better find a good pool tech to evaluate this monstrosity for you. The landlord isn't doing you any favors from the sounds of it.
Are asking to run the pipes on the pool deck and over the pool edge into the water and run the pool like that ?

Got pics ? With old plumbing the drain was likely abandoned at some point due to a leak. It very well could be fine.

Your pool will work just fine with the main drain plugged..
The skimmer must be working or your pump would not be able to circulate any water at all.
Please tell us why you think the skimmer is not working..
