Inground ladder

Good afternoon. The top step of our deep end ladder cracked in half and I decided after 10 years it would be worth replacing the ladder that came with the pool as there was some rust on the side rails. The new ladder that I got from the pool store (they installed my first pool) is of a different brand unfortunately and has just enough of a different angle that when installed correctly, the bottom legs of the ladder do not contact the side wall of the pool. Both legs are about 4-5 inches from the wall. When I use the ladder, they subsequently contact the wall. Although capped, Im concerned that the repeated bumping into the wall will damage my liner.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help.
Tony

In the mean time I going to try and clean up the old rails and purchase replacement steps.
