When I did my initial cya increase, I added 20 ppm liquid and then I did the other 10 with dry stabilize, however I am on day 28 and decided to clean my filter, I noticed about half the drain cap of the filter with the dry stabilizer from what it appears. It was full of rock, plaster and the dry stabilizer. I added the stabilizer with the sock method and squeezed it.

my cya doesn’t test at 30 either which Now makes sense.

Why would it still be in the filter after 3 weeks? Did I do something incorrect?

If it helps .....

Adding CYA:
To increase CYA via granular stabilizer, place the required amount as calculated by the PoolMath APP into a white sock and place in the poolside skimmer basket. For those concerned about suction flow to the pump, suspending the sock near a return jet or from a floating device will also suffice. Best never to allow undissolved granules to rest directly against the pool surface. After about 30 minutes of soaking, squeeze the sock continuously to help it dissipate. Once dissolved, consider your CYA adjusted to that programmed (target) level. CYA test readings should show a rise in 24-48 hours, however some pools may experience a longer delay to fully register. Best to confirm final CYA in about 5-7 days before adding any more stabilizer/conditioner.

Hi, yes I did the sock method suspended above a return jet and squeezed, etc. I dissolved enough for the 10 ppm based on the mfg and TFP. I dissolved it in about 8ish hrs if I recall, it was three weeks ago.

Why would it be in the filter still? Unless it’s not the stabilizer and it’s something else from startup. To me it looked like the stabilizer. Maybe it got mixed with the rock, plaster, etc

I'm confused by the "rock, plaster and stabilizer" comment. Do you have failing plaster? Where is this debris coming from?
It's very unlikely to be stabilizer - but may be indicative of other issues.

This is my first filter cleaning from startup, it’s a pebble finish and acid wash. I am assuming all of the rock is from startup that went down the drains. Still trying to figure how it went through the pump basket but must be finer.

CYA degrades over time. CYA degrades faster at higher temperatures. If you added "30" and 20 was liquid, after 30 days in central CA, I'm not surprised your CYA is low...
