1 - For your records - always good to know how it's plumbed.

2 - Turn them in to A&A. Work with A&A to get it resolved.

3 - Your contract, state law and the agreement the PS has with A&A will define that.

And when you call A&A - I highly suggest you do that now rather than later - ask them to provide your customer number. Save that number as it will come in handy when any heads or parts go bad (should be covered under their lifetime warranty to original owner - unless Pentair has nixed that).

EDIT - looks link the lifetime warranty is still applicable - as long as the system is designed and built to A&A specs.

I hear you, and thank you for the advise, but what good does it do me? the pool is already built.

What if they don't have one?

What is A&A going to say / do?

What recourse do I have if there isn't one?
Take things one step at a time.

No reason to deal in hypotheticals.

FWIW - my A&A IFCS system is set up in a similar fashion, with zone 1 and 2 in the deep end, 3 in the spa, 4, 5, 6, work towards the shallow end. I actually have 2 zone valves to make everything function.

They must have a reason for putting zone 1 in the deep end.

A couple things, 1. I love the layout of your pool. It looks awesome. but also 2. That IFCS Layout blows my mind and makes zero sense to me. **EDIT** Two separate Zone valves actually makes more sense. I could see that working, if they fire all the zone A ports and then the Zone B ports. that would make some sense. **END OF EDIT**
My zones are exactly what I thought they would be, minus the hot tub being the 6th zone and firing last. The rest of mine should work exactly opposite of what its doing.

Does your IFCS work well with your pool design? Is it effective?

Great that you found the paperwork.

It appears its supposed to fire from shallow to deep (zones 1-5, in order) and then the spa (zone 6).
Tell the builder that the way they installed it, the debris seems to go to the shallow end. See if they are willijg to change it to follow the zone order shown on the A&A plan. If they aren't willing to do that, then consider calling A&A directly and ask them about the firing order.

Let us know the outcome of the PB visit.

Thanks for the compliment on the pool layout. We really like it.

I do see that your zones are actually designed to move from shallow to deep, 1-5. That is bizarre how they plumbed it up completely backwards, except for zone 6. Apparently they knew which port was zone 6, and numbered them in order, looking at the wrong side of the valve.

My system works well. I do get a couple of areas where small bits of sediment will collect. One area is in the shallow end next to the end of the bench, and one area in the deep end near the area of the baja ledge and wall intersection.

Using 2 zone valves, A valve is plumbed 1-3 to pop-ups, 4-6 to valve B. Valve B is plumbed 1-5 to pop-ups, 6 to wall returns. So mine doesn't even cycle through everything evenly. It will hit 1-3A, then depending on where valve B was left, 1-3B, then return to A. The next time it hits valve B, it may finish zone 3, then make it through 4 and 5, and part of 6, then back to A. Then next time on B, it will finish 6, then get 1 and 2, then back to A. So mine never goes through every pop up in a full sequence.

On my second season I purchased a robotic cleaner, mostly to have the cleaner do the pool brushing for me. Bonus is that it will collect those small areas of sediment as well.

Good luck with getting your system corrected. I'll be following along to see what happens.

Yeah - No..... :poke:

The PB stopped by this morning and confirmed that it is indeed firing the zones in the reverse order. He said they will make it a top priority to get the plumber out here and get it fixed. We shall see.

Just be sure the PB understands your exact expectation on the project.
Nothing should be seen anywhere above ground after doing this fix.
