Impending storm

So, in NZ we have a storm coming in the next few days - the media is making it sound like one of the biggest storms we've had in a while. We have not had our AGP up for that long so I really don't know what to expect and how it will cope. We have just had to reinforce the leg footings, and are comfortable that the footing is unlikely to start sinking into the ground etc, but are wondering if there's anything else we need to prepare for the storm?

We will of course secure any potentially flying objects, leave the cover off, balance the chemicals. I am assuming that weight of the water will keep the pool from collapsing, right? Has anybody else had to weather big storms with their above ground pools?

Bump the FC slightly above target range right before it gets ugly.

Mix the water occasionally during the storm if safe to do so, or even better just leave the pump on. You don't want 5 inches (?) of 0 FC rain water sitting on top festering for a day until the pump comes on again.

There trees around it that can fall on the pool? Seems like most storm damage we see is from trees falling on a pool.

Other than protecting the pool structure itself from debris in the area, there's the potential for flooding at the quipment pad. Be mindful of the pump and anything else that could get damaged if flooding occurs.

Looks like everyone has got u covered!
Hopefully your pool & home will weather the storm well!
Be sure to take a minute fill out your signature so everyone knows that you have an intex pool etc. & can lend the best advice for your situation when questions arise 😊

Just an update on this storm. So the storm was terrible. It's an ex-cyclone Gabrielle which has pummeled NZ. Many people have lost their homes or have had to evacuate. We are now at the tail end of the storm - the rain has stopped but still windy as heck.

I am happy to report though that the pool is still standing strong. Despite the crazy rain there is no subsidence so the level is still perfect. We kept pumping a little bit of water out to ensure it didn't overfill. The wind did not touch the pool due to its weight. The water still looks clear (I put some extra FC in there before the storm), but will test again when the sun comes out.
