I’m looking for detailed information on installing concrete steps in in ground pool to be covered with vinyl liner. How to secure liner, etc.

I’m going to be replacing my pool liner and want to add internal steps . I plan on using concrete for the steps and am relatively comfortable with that part. My biggest concern is how best to attach liner to steps, whether to put foam over the steps and similar details. Also, my pools bottom is currently either sand or something similar and I would like to upgrade to something that won’t get foot marks. My research leads me to a concrete bottom , but I’m still not sure plus I am not sure about what “concrete” is best , component wise.

Vermiculite for the bottom and it's easier to use steel steps for liner over. Concrete has to be perfect otherwise the liner won't fit right. You use stair track the inside of the liner steps has a bead for it and you set to that. Not easy for a diy it's tricky if you want a super tight liner. Measuring is key and has to be precise
